The Power of Half

  1. i often wish i could just get rid of everything. my big plan is to move back to ca with just a suitcase... but i don't know that i could ever actually do it. the only thing that i would really have a difficult time getting rid of is my art. the rest of it is replaceable. though, i suppose the point is to downsize and not to replace later. i have a friend who is working on a de-cluttering project. everyday she gets rid of at least one thing. usually something like old papers she was holding on to or a shirt she never wears. i think it's a good start and less overwhelming than a one time overhaul.

  2. It's hard to really think what I could give up. Going on a mission definately gives you a great perspective into living with very little material things just the clothes on your back, your scriptures, a few books , and also a few small things that you cherish. When I came home I saw everything I had, I was excited to look through those things but immediately felt I needed to downsize. I cut my belongings into half or more pretty much at least if felt that way but... I still have a great deal.

I don't make much money, and I don't have many belongings at least of material worth but... sentimental worth! I feel that the best way I can give alittle is by using my time more wisely so that when a service opporunity comes I can help someone, and looking for those opporunities more readily. If someone needs a book to read I sure got those...!!!! (Majority of my belongings are books, I would love to share the wealth that is in knowledge). I apolozie for this comment being long but the post really got me thinking!
